Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly competent Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative product development team based in Liverpool . This role is crucial for designing and developing mechanical components and systems for new and existing products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to bring innovative solutions to market. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using CAD software , ensuring they meet performance, cost, and manufacturability requirements.
• Conduct engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and vibration analysis, to validate designs and predict performance.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for production processes (e.g., injection molding, machining).
• Support product testing and validation activities, analyzing results and implementing design improvements.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical design issues throughout the product development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) and associated drafting standards.
• Strong understanding of material properties, manufacturing processes, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
• Experience with engineering analysis tools (e.g., FEA) is highly desirable.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
