Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team in Oxford . This role is critical for designing and developing complex mechanical systems and components for new and existing products. You will be involved in the entire design lifecycle, from conceptualization and detailed design to prototyping and testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong portfolio of successful design projects and a passion for engineering excellence, contributing to cutting-edge advancements in their field.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of mechanical components and systems using CAD software.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Conduct stress analysis, thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs.
• Oversee prototyping and testing of new designs, analyzing results and making necessary modifications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and production teams to ensure designs are optimized for mass production.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior design engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in mechanical design engineering .
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, CATIA) and FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of material science, manufacturing processes, and DFM (Design for Manufacturability).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and communicate technical information clearly.
