Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team based in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire . In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of mechanical design, from initial concept generation to detailed design, prototyping, and testing. You will work on exciting projects, contributing significantly to the development of new products and enhancing existing ones. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced engineer to take ownership of key design tasks and influence product direction.

Key Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design, and develop mechanical systems and components using advanced CAD software .
• Perform detailed analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), to ensure design integrity and performance.
• Produce comprehensive manufacturing drawings, specifications, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful product realization.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior design engineers within the team.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design-related issues during development and production phases.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of progressive experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Proficiency with industry-standard 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks or Inventor.
• Solid understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining).
• Experience with simulation and analysis tools is highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
