About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their innovative team. This is a fully remote position, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere within the UK. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical systems and components, ensuring adherence to project requirements and quality standards.
- Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM) using CAD software.
- Conduct thorough stress analysis , thermal analysis, and other simulations to validate designs.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, in a remote setting.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to design reviews.
- Oversee the prototyping and testing phases, troubleshooting any issues that arise during development.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design and development.
- Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD) and FEA tools.
- Strong understanding of material science, manufacturing processes, and product lifecycle management.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects remotely and excellent communication skills.
- Experience with DFM/DFA (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly) principles.
