About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Designer to join their innovative team in Wolverhampton . This role is integral to translating engineering concepts into detailed, production-ready designs for a range of mechanical systems and products. You will utilize advanced CAD software to create complex 3D models, 2D drawings, and assemblies, ensuring precision and adherence to design specifications. Working within a hybrid model, you'll collaborate closely with engineers and manufacturing personnel to bring innovative designs to life, contributing significantly to the company's product development pipeline.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings for mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and assembly instructions for production.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to refine designs based on performance requirements and feedback.
- Ensure designs meet all functional, aesthetic, and manufacturability requirements.
- Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to colleagues.
- Maintain and organize design documentation, ensuring version control and accessibility.
Requirements
- HNC/HND or degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Designer or Drafter.
- Advanced proficiency in 3D parametric modeling software, preferably SolidWorks .
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, such as machining, sheet metal fabrication, and plastic molding.
- Good knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid team structure.
