Senior Mechanical Designer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and creative Senior Mechanical Designer to join their innovative and fully remote engineering team. This role is pivotal in translating conceptual ideas into detailed, manufacturable designs for advanced products. You will take a leading role in the design process, from initial concept sketches to fully detailed 3D models and drawings, ensuring that all designs meet stringent performance, aesthetic, and cost requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design process for new and existing products, from concept development through to production-ready documentation.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using industry-standard CAD software , ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Perform design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) analysis to optimize production efficiency and cost.
• Collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and manufacturing partners to ensure designs meet all functional and project objectives.
• Conduct design reviews, incorporating feedback and making necessary revisions to designs.
• Research and propose new materials, components, and design techniques to enhance product innovation and performance.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong portfolio showcasing complex product development.
• Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360) and associated drafting standards.
• Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and tolerances.
• Excellent visualization, communication, and problem-solving skills, adapted for remote teamwork.
