About the Role
Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team in Derby, Derbyshire , supporting critical functions within the energy services sector. This role involves the design, analysis, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment crucial for energy production and distribution. You will play a key part in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of these systems, contributing to the smooth operation of energy facilities. The hybrid working model offers a blend of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and specify mechanical components and systems for energy-related applications.
- Perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations.
- Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
- Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment lifespan.
- Ensure all designs and operations comply with relevant engineering standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical issues encountered in the field.
Requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on the energy industry .
- Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA/CFD tools.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
- Experience with rotating equipment, pumps, and heat exchangers.
