Senior Mechanical Engineer - Energy Services

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their expanding team in Derby, Derbyshire , supporting critical functions within the energy services sector. This role involves the design, analysis, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment crucial for energy production and distribution. You will play a key part in ensuring the efficiency, safety, and reliability of these systems, contributing to the smooth operation of energy facilities. The hybrid working model offers a blend of office-based collaboration and remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and specify mechanical components and systems for energy-related applications.
• Perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations.
• Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment lifespan.
• Ensure all designs and operations comply with relevant engineering standards and safety regulations.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for mechanical issues encountered in the field.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on the energy industry .
• Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FEA/CFD tools.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
• Experience with rotating equipment, pumps, and heat exchangers.
