Senior Mechanical Engineer - Manufacturing Automation

About the Role

Our client, a leader in advanced manufacturing solutions, is seeking a talented Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Liverpool . This role focuses on the design and implementation of sophisticated manufacturing automation systems, including robotic cells, automated assembly lines, and bespoke machinery. Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems for automated production lines and robotic work cells.
• Create detailed 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bills of Materials for automated machinery.
• Select appropriate components such as actuators, sensors, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and structural elements.
• Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and validation testing for new automation designs.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers, software developers, and controls specialists to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and automated systems.
• Provide on-site support for installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of automated manufacturing equipment.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, with a strong focus on automation and machine design.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor) and experience with motion control systems.
• Understanding of robotics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and sensor integration.
• Experience in designing for high-speed manufacturing environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a project-driven environment in Liverpool .
