Senior Mechanical Engineer - Product Development

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to drive product development initiatives in Cardiff . This key role will involve leading the design, development, and implementation of new mechanical systems and improving existing ones. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical design aspects of new product development projects from concept to launch.
• Conduct in-depth engineering analysis , including stress, thermal, and vibration testing.
• Develop and refine mechanical designs using advanced 3D CAD software and simulation tools.
• Work closely with the R&D team to prototype and test new designs, iterating based on feedback.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements for all mechanical designs.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers within the team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• Significant experience (8+ years) in mechanical product design and development.
• Expertise in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA ) and advanced simulation techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to manage technical projects and lead engineering teams.
• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and product lifecycle management.
