Senior Mechanical Engineer - R&D

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their dedicated Research and Development (R&D) team in Brighton . Key Responsibilities

• Lead the conceptualization and design of novel mechanical systems and components for next-generation products.
• Conduct feasibility studies, proof-of-concept testing, and experimental validation of new ideas.
• Utilize advanced CAD and simulation tools to model, analyze, and optimize designs for performance and manufacturability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional R&D teams, including materials science, electronics, and software engineering.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and intellectual property disclosures related to R&D findings.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends relevant to mechanical engineering and product development.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a strong R&D focus.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical design and development, with a significant portion in R&D or innovation roles.
• Proven ability in conceptual design , prototyping, and experimental validation.
• Expertise in CAD software and familiarity with simulation techniques (FEA, CFD).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a creative and inquisitive mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working within an R&D team.
