Senior Mechanical Engineer - Renewable Energy

Key Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical components and systems for renewable energy applications.
• Perform detailed engineering calculations, simulations (FEA, CFD), and stress analyses to ensure structural integrity and performance.
• Develop technical specifications, drawings, and manufacturing documentation in accordance with industry standards.
• Collaborate with project managers, electrical engineers, and field teams to ensure successful project execution from concept to commissioning.
• Conduct site assessments and provide technical support for the installation and maintenance of renewable energy infrastructure.
• Stay current with technological advancements in the renewable energy field and contribute to innovation efforts.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with specific experience in the renewable energy sector highly preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD software and engineering analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation).
• Strong understanding of materials science, fatigue analysis, and fluid dynamics relevant to renewable energy systems.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with experience working in cross-functional project teams.
• Ability to travel occasionally for site visits and project meetings within the Glasgow area and beyond.
