Senior Mechanical Engineer

Salary: 60k– 73k (dependent on experience)
Location: Cambridge
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hands–on Mechanical Engineer to join an innovative technology company developing cutting–edge medical devices. Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in the development of precision mechanical systems for next–generation drug delivery products, taking designs from early–stage concepts through to high–volume manufacture
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of designs from concept through to production
- Develop precision mechanical components and assemblies
- Produce 3D CAD drawings and supporting documentation
- Support prototype builds, testing, and engineering investigations
- Apply DFM and DFA principles to optimise designs for scalable production
- Assess tolerance stack–ups and the impact of manufacturing variation on performance
Key Skills & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Previous experience developing medical devices is a must
- Strong 3D CAD skills
- Knowledge of injection moulding and high–volume manufacturing processes is a must
- Understanding of precision mechanisms and tolerance analysis
- Excellent problem–solving skills and ability to manage multiple technical workstreams
