Senior Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Senior Mechanical Engineer to join their team supporting energy infrastructure projects, based in Wolverhampton . This role requires a comprehensive understanding of mechanical systems design, analysis, and project execution. You will be involved in the full lifecycle of projects, from conceptual design to operational support, ensuring that all mechanical aspects meet technical specifications and safety requirements. Working within a hybrid framework, you'll contribute to critical energy sector initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and efficient solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical components, equipment, and systems for energy applications.
• Perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and fluid dynamics calculations using simulation tools.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
• Conduct site inspections and provide technical support during the operational phase.
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure designs are cost-effective, safe, and meet project timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Mechanical Engineer , with a focus on energy systems.
• Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor) and FEA tools.
• Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and materials science.
• Experience with project management and contract administration.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
