Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer to join their established engineering department in Bradford, West Yorkshire, UK . This critical role involves overseeing the integration and performance of complex mechanical systems across various projects, ensuring they meet stringent performance and safety criteria. You will lead technical reviews, provide expert guidance, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver robust and reliable solutions. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in system design, analysis, and a strong understanding of integrated mechanical assemblies, coupled with excellent leadership and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, integration, and validation of complex mechanical systems, ensuring seamless functionality.
• Develop system architecture and technical specifications for new mechanical projects.
• Conduct detailed system-level analysis , including performance, thermal, and reliability assessments.
• Oversee the creation of system schematics, P&IDs, and integration plans.
• Collaborate with project managers, hardware engineers, and software developers to ensure cohesive system development.
• Troubleshoot complex system integration issues and implement effective solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within the team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical systems engineering , with a strong focus on integration and design.
• Proven expertise in system dynamics, thermodynamics , and control systems.
• Experience with system modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
• Excellent project management and technical leadership skills.
