Job Description
Senior Merchandiser | Market Leading, Multi-Brand Retailer | Manchester
Location: Manchester
Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 + benefits
About the Role:
We're partnering with a well-known, multi-brand retailer with genuine heritage to find an experienced Senior Merchandiser to join the team.
This business is on a real transformation journey - performance is strong and the momentum is only building, backed by excellent new leadership and a supportive, ambitious team. It's a rare opportunity to join a well-established, much-loved brand at exactly the right moment: established enough to offer real stability and resource, but changing fast enough that a Senior Merchandiser joining now will have genuine ownership and the chance to shape what comes next.
This is a fast-paced, hands-on environment. We're looking for someone who wants to come in, get stuck in, and make a visible impact - not just maintain the status quo.
The Role:
As Senior Merchandiser, you'll take ownership of the trading performance and strategy for your area, working closely with the Head of Merchandising, Buying and wider commercial teams to drive sales, profitability and stock efficiency across the brand(s) you manage. Key responsibilities will include:
Owning the sales, stock and intake strategy for your categories, ensuring plans are commercially robust and aligned to business targets
Leading weekly and seasonal trade analysis, identifying risk and opportunity, and driving decisive action
Partnering closely with Buying to shape range architecture, OTB and future range planning
Managing markdown, promotional and clearance strategy to protect margin while maximising sell-through
Coaching and developing an Assistant Merchandiser/Merchandiser within your team
Building strong cross-functional relationships across Buying, Planning, Supply Chain and Retail
Presenting clear, confident trade updates and recommendations to senior stakeholders
Playing an active role in wider transformation initiatives, bringing fresh thinking to established ways of workingAbout You:
Proven experience as a Merchandiser or Senior Merchandiser from a fashion background.
A commercially sharp, analytical thinker who can translate data into clear, confident trading decisions
Comfortable operating at pace, with the resilience and adaptability to work through a period of change
A natural leader - able to influence senior stakeholders and develop junior team members
Excited by the opportunity to genuinely shape and improve processes, not just work within them
Strong systems skills, with experience of merchandise planning toolsWhat's On Offer:
The chance to join a well-known, established retailer at a genuinely exciting point in its transformation
Excellent new leadership and collaborative team culture
Real ownership and the opportunity to make a visible, lasting impact
