Senior Mine Surveyor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Senior Mine Surveyor to join their operational team in Liverpool . This role is fundamental to ensuring the accuracy and integrity of mine workings, production volumes, and compliance with spatial regulations. You will be responsible for conducting precise surveys, maintaining survey control networks, and utilizing advanced surveying technologies both underground and on the surface. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of surveying principles applied to mining environments and a commitment to precision and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform accurate underground and surface surveys, including setting out, volume calculations, and monitoring of mine structures.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks to high standards of precision.
• Operate and maintain advanced surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS/GNSS receivers, and laser scanners.
• Process and interpret survey data using specialized software (e.g., AutoCAD, MineCAD, Surpac).
• Prepare detailed survey plans, reports, and as-built drawings for mine management and regulatory bodies.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements for mine surveying.
• Collaborate with mine planning engineers, geologists, and operations personnel to provide accurate spatial data.

Requirements

• Degree or Diploma in Mine Surveying, Geomatics, or a related discipline.
• A minimum of 6 years of experience in mine surveying, with proven experience in underground environments.
• Proficiency with modern surveying instruments and data processing software.
• Strong understanding of cadastral surveying principles and their application in mining.
• Experience with 3D modeling and volumetric analysis.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid UK driver's license is required.
