About the Role
Our client is seeking a sharp and analytical Senior Mining Analyst to join their team in Belfast . This role requires a deep understanding of the global mining markets, focusing on economic trends, commodity prices, and geopolitical influences impacting the sector within Northern Ireland and beyond. You will be instrumental in providing critical insights and forecasts that guide investment decisions and strategic planning. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth market research and analysis on key commodities, mining companies, and exploration projects.
- Monitor and forecast global metal and mineral prices, assessing supply and demand dynamics.
- Prepare regular market reports, intelligence briefs, and presentations for stakeholders.
- Develop financial models to evaluate mining project economics and company valuations.
- Track regulatory changes and geopolitical events affecting the mining industry in Northern Ireland and globally.
- Identify emerging trends and investment opportunities within the sector.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Mining Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial analysis, market research, or investment banking, with a focus on the mining or commodities sector .
- Strong quantitative and financial modeling skills, with expertise in Excel and financial databases (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv).
- Excellent understanding of the mining lifecycle, commodity markets, and associated risks.
- Proven ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly and concisely in written and verbal formats.
- Familiarity with the Northern Ireland economic landscape and its potential for mining investment is a plus.
