Senior Mining Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Engineer to join their established operations in Southampton . This role is essential for designing, planning, and overseeing safe and efficient mining operations. You will be responsible for optimizing production methods, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mine design and planning, with a proven ability to lead technical projects and contribute to strategic operational decisions, ensuring the long-term viability and success of the mining sites.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed mine plans, including short and long-term production schedules.
• Design and optimize mine layouts, ventilation systems, and dewatering strategies.
• Conduct feasibility studies and economic evaluations for new projects and expansions.
• Manage and supervise mine engineering staff and contractors.
• Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards in all mining activities.
• Identify and implement technological advancements to improve mining efficiency and safety.

Requirements

• BEng or MEng in Mining Engineering.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in mining engineering, with a focus on mine planning and design.
• Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., Deswik, Surpac).
• Strong knowledge of open-pit and/or underground mining methods.
• Experience in geological data interpretation and resource modeling.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
