Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive mine plans, including excavation strategies, ventilation systems, and ground support.
- Conduct detailed geological surveys and resource assessments to optimize extraction yields and mine life.
- Oversee day-to-day operational activities, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, environmental regulations, and production targets.
- Manage and mentor junior engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Utilize advanced modeling and simulation software to predict and mitigate operational risks.
- Collaborate with geological, environmental, and safety teams to ensure integrated project management.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mining Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in mine planning, operations, and management.
- Proven expertise in geotechnical engineering , mine design software (e.g., 3D modeling), and simulation tools.
- Strong understanding of UK mining regulations and best practices for health, safety, and environmental stewardship.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
