About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Mining Engineer to join their operational team in Leicester . Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement detailed mining plans and schedules, optimizing for resource extraction and cost-effectiveness.
• Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Supervise and mentor a team of mining personnel, fostering a culture of safety and high performance.
• Manage operational budgets, track expenditures, and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
• Utilize geological data and surveying techniques to plan drilling, blasting, and material handling operations.
• Prepare comprehensive reports on production, safety, and environmental performance for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in underground or surface mining operations .
• Proven experience in mine planning, design, and production management.
• Strong knowledge of relevant mining equipment, techniques, and safety protocols.
• Proficiency in mine planning software (e.g., AutoCAD, Deswik, MineSight) and data analysis tools.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
