Senior Mining Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Project Manager to lead significant mining projects from their operational base in Portsmouth . This role demands strong leadership, exceptional organizational skills, and a deep understanding of the mining lifecycle, from exploration through to production and closure. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest safety and environmental standards. Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all phases of mining projects, ensuring successful execution from inception to completion.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.
• Oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including engineers, geologists, and contractors.
• Manage stakeholder relationships, including regulatory bodies, local communities, and investors.
• Implement and enforce stringent health, safety, and environmental protocols on project sites.
• Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure project success.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in managing large-scale mining projects .
• Proven track record of delivering complex projects on schedule and within budget.
• Strong knowledge of mining operations, project finance, and contract management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with project management software and methodologies.
