Senior Mining Project Manager

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Mining Project Manager to lead significant mining development projects based out of Derby . This role offers a hybrid working arrangement, providing a balance between on-site project engagement and remote strategic planning and management. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of mining projects, from feasibility studies through to operational handover. This includes managing budgets, schedules, resources, and stakeholder relationships to ensure successful project outcomes. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of mining engineering principles, and a proven ability to navigate complex project challenges within the global mining industry .

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all phases of mining projects, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closure.
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, budgets, and schedules, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
• Lead and motivate multi-disciplinary project teams, fostering collaboration and high performance.
• Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impacts.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders.
• Ensure all projects comply with safety, environmental, and quality standards throughout their lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in project management within the mining sector , with a strong focus on project delivery.
• Demonstrated success in managing large-scale mining development or construction projects.
• Excellent understanding of mining operations, technologies, and associated risks.
• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and methodologies.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
