Senior Network Architect - Broadband

About the Role

Our client is seeking an innovative Senior Network Architect to lead the strategic design and development of their broadband infrastructure in Portsmouth . This critical role involves defining the future direction of their network architecture, ensuring it is scalable, resilient, and meets the evolving demands of high-speed internet services. You will collaborate with engineering teams, product management, and operational staff to translate business needs into robust technical blueprints. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the architectural vision for the company's broadband network , encompassing access, core, and transport layers.
• Design scalable, high-availability network solutions that support new services and growth.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending strategic investments and implementations.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure designs are effectively implemented and meet performance targets.
• Create detailed technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, standards, and best practices.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineering teams.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in network architecture and design, with a significant focus on broadband or fixed-line telecommunications.
• Deep understanding of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), MPLS, segment routing, and QoS.
• Expertise in PON, DOCSIS, fibre optic technologies, and associated network elements.
• Proven ability to architect complex, large-scale networks for high-volume traffic.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically.
• Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CCDE, TOGAF) are highly advantageous.
