About the Role
Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Network Architect to lead the design and evolution of their telecommunications infrastructure, working from a remote location within Bristol, South West England, UK . This strategic role involves defining the future state of the network, ensuring it is scalable, resilient, secure, and capable of supporting innovative services. You will collaborate with senior leadership, engineering teams, and stakeholders across the business to translate complex requirements into robust architectural blueprints. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain the overall network architecture roadmap, aligning with business strategy and technology trends.
- Design high-level and low-level network solutions for complex telecommunications environments, including routing, switching, security, and cloud integration.
- Evaluate and recommend new technologies, platforms, and vendor solutions to enhance network capabilities and efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to network engineering and operations teams during the design and implementation phases.
- Ensure architectural designs meet requirements for scalability, reliability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
- Create and present architectural documentation, proposals, and roadmaps to technical and executive audiences.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in network engineering and design, with a significant portion focused on network architecture .
- In-depth knowledge of enterprise and service provider networking technologies, including SDN, NFV, MPLS, BGP, and IPv6.
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and their application within network designs.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams in a remote environment.
