Senior Network Architect

About the Role

Our client is seeking a visionary Senior Network Architect to lead the design and evolution of their telecommunications infrastructure, working from a remote location within Bristol, South West England, UK . You will collaborate with senior leadership, engineering teams, and stakeholders across the business to translate complex requirements into robust architectural blueprints. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the overall network architecture roadmap, aligning with business strategy and technology trends.
• Design high-level and low-level network solutions for complex telecommunications environments, including routing, switching, security, and cloud integration.
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies, platforms, and vendor solutions to enhance network capabilities and efficiency.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to network engineering and operations teams during the design and implementation phases.
• Ensure architectural designs meet requirements for scalability, reliability, performance, security, and cost-effectiveness.
• Create and present architectural documentation, proposals, and roadmaps to technical and executive audiences.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in network engineering and design, with a significant portion focused on network architecture .
• In-depth knowledge of enterprise and service provider networking technologies, including SDN, NFV, MPLS, BGP, and IPv6.
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud architectures.
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and their application within network designs.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
• Proven ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor engineering teams in a remote environment.
