Senior Network Engineer - Infrastructure Security

About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Network Engineer with a specialization in Infrastructure Security to join their dedicated IT team in Sheffield . Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage secure and scalable network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, and wireless networks.
• Configure and maintain network security devices such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), and VPN gateways.
• Monitor network performance and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
• Develop and implement network security policies and procedures to ensure compliance and protect sensitive data.
• Troubleshoot complex network problems and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest networking and security threats and technologies, recommending improvements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network engineering with a strong emphasis on network security.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise-level network hardware and software (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks).
• Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network security principles.
• Experience with firewall management, VPN configuration, and network segmentation.
• Knowledge of network monitoring tools and methodologies.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
