About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Network Engineer with a specialization in Infrastructure Security to join their dedicated IT team in Sheffield . This role is crucial for maintaining and enhancing the security, performance, and reliability of our corporate network infrastructure. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing network security solutions, ensuring the protection of our digital assets against evolving threats. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage secure and scalable network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, VPNs, and wireless networks.
- Configure and maintain network security devices such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), and VPN gateways.
- Monitor network performance and security, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Develop and implement network security policies and procedures to ensure compliance and protect sensitive data.
- Troubleshoot complex network problems and provide timely resolution to minimize downtime.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest networking and security threats and technologies, recommending improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering with a strong emphasis on network security.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing enterprise-level network hardware and software (e.g., Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto Networks).
- Deep understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and network security principles.
- Experience with firewall management, VPN configuration, and network segmentation.
- Knowledge of network monitoring tools and methodologies.
- Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
