Senior Network Engineer - Network Security

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer with a strong focus on Network Security to join their fully remote infrastructure team. This role is critical for designing, implementing, and maintaining a secure, reliable, and high-performance network infrastructure across the organization. You will be responsible for safeguarding network perimeters, implementing advanced security measures, and ensuring the integrity and availability of network services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and manage enterprise network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Implement and maintain robust network security measures, including intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDPS), access controls, and threat mitigation strategies.
• Monitor network performance and security, identifying and resolving bottlenecks and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and execute network disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services with other infrastructure components.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering and network security.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, and network security principles.
• Experience with firewall management (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), VPN technologies, and network monitoring tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CISSP are highly desirable.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills for a remote team.
