Senior Network Engineer

About the Role

Our client is actively seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their team on a fully remote basis, supporting operations nationwide from their hub in Newcastle upon Tyne . In this crucial role, you will be responsible for architecting, implementing, and maintaining sophisticated network infrastructure that underpins our client's extensive telecommunications services. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy scalable and secure network architectures, including advanced routing and switching solutions.
• Proactively monitor network health, performance metrics, and security posture, identifying and addressing potential issues before they impact services.
• Lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex network incidents, providing expert analysis and implementing effective fixes.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to integrate new technologies and optimize existing network infrastructure.
• Develop and maintain accurate network documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Conduct performance reviews and capacity planning to ensure network scalability and reliability for future growth.

Requirements

• Extensive experience in network engineering with a proven track record in designing and managing enterprise-level networks.
• In-depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, and network security concepts.
• Proficiency with network monitoring and analysis tools, such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, or similar.
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a significant advantage.
• Strong understanding of telecommunications principles and technologies.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for a remote working environment.
