About the Role

Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Network Engineer to join their infrastructure team in Wolverhampton . This role is integral to the design, implementation, and maintenance of robust, secure, and high-performance network infrastructure across the organization. You will be responsible for ensuring network availability, troubleshooting complex issues, and planning for future network growth and upgrades. The ideal candidate possesses a deep understanding of networking principles and technologies, with a proactive approach to network management and optimization.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Monitor network performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize throughput and latency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
• Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures to protect against threats.
• Plan and execute network upgrades and expansions to support business growth and technological advancements.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services with other systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Networking, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience in network engineering and administration.
• In-depth knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), switching technologies, and network security.
• Experience with firewall management, VPN configuration, and network monitoring tools.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent are highly desirable.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
