About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join their IT infrastructure team in Norwich . This role is essential for the design, implementation, and maintenance of the organization's robust and secure network infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring network performance, reliability, and scalability, while also collaborating with security teams to implement best practices. Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage enterprise-level network solutions, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks.
- Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and implement solutions to optimize network efficiency.
- Ensure network security by implementing and managing firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and policies.
- Collaborate with system administrators and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services.
- Respond to network incidents and provide timely resolution to minimize disruption.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of experience in network engineering and administration.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF) and network hardware.
- Experience with network security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS).
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and performance analysis techniques.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to manage complex network environments.
