About the Role
Our client is seeking a proactive and experienced Senior Operations Engineer to join their operational team in Derby, Derbyshire . This role is crucial for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable day-to-day operation of our client's energy assets. You will be responsible for optimizing production processes, troubleshooting operational issues, managing maintenance strategies, and ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of operational challenges within the energy sector and a proven ability to lead and motivate operational teams to achieve performance targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and optimize daily operations to meet production targets and efficiency goals.
- Develop and implement maintenance strategies to minimize downtime and ensure asset integrity.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for operational problems and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure strict adherence to all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and company policies.
- Manage operational budgets and control costs effectively.
- Train and mentor junior operations personnel, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and safety departments to ensure integrated operations.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical) or a related discipline.
- Significant experience (6+ years) in operations engineering within the energy or industrial sector.
- Proven experience in managing operational teams and complex processes.
- Strong understanding of operational risk management and safety procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills.
- Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) is advantageous.
