Senior Penetration Tester

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Penetration Tester to join their offensive security team, operating with a hybrid work model based in Plymouth . In this vital role, you will be responsible for simulating cyber-attacks to identify vulnerabilities in the organisation's systems, networks, and applications before malicious actors can exploit them. You will play a key part in strengthening the company's security defenses through rigorous testing and providing actionable recommendations for remediation. Key Responsibilities

• Plan, execute, and document complex penetration tests across web applications, networks, and mobile platforms.
• Identify, exploit, and report on security vulnerabilities, including common and advanced threats.
• Develop and maintain custom testing tools and scripts to improve testing efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide detailed, clear, and actionable recommendations for vulnerability remediation to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure vulnerabilities are addressed promptly and effectively.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest attack techniques, tools, and industry best practices in penetration testing.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in penetration testing and offensive security.
• Demonstrable experience with a wide range of penetration testing tools and methodologies (e.g., Metasploit, Burp Suite, OWASP Top 10).
• Strong understanding of network protocols, operating systems, web application security, and cloud environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex findings clearly.
