Senior Petroleum Engineer - Reservoir Characterization

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Petroleum Engineer with expertise in reservoir characterization to join their operations in Reading . This hybrid role is central to understanding and quantifying subsurface assets, providing critical data for field development and production optimization in the Oil & Gas sector. You will integrate geological, petrophysical, and engineering data to build robust models that inform strategic decisions. Working within a collaborative team environment, you will leverage advanced analytical techniques to unlock the full potential of our client's reservoir assets. This position offers a balanced approach to work, combining office-based analysis with remote flexibility.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform detailed reservoir characterization using well logs, core data, and production history.
• Develop and refine static reservoir models, incorporating geological, petrophysical, and engineering data.
• Analyze and interpret core data, including rock typing and petrophysical properties.
• Conduct uncertainty analysis and define ranges for reservoir parameters.
• Collaborate with geoscientists and production engineers to ensure integrated reservoir descriptions.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations on reservoir characteristics and potential.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in reservoir engineering, with a strong focus on characterization and modeling.
• Proficiency in reservoir characterization and modeling software (e.g., Petrel, Roxar RMS).
• Strong understanding of petrophysics, sedimentology, and core analysis techniques.
• Experience with volumetric calculations and uncertainty assessment.
• Excellent analytical, reporting, and communication skills.
