Senior Pharmaceutical Development Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Pharmaceutical Development Scientist to join their dedicated product development team in the renowned scientific hub of Oxford . This role is instrumental in the formulation and characterization of novel pharmaceutical drug products, ensuring they are robust, scalable, and meet stringent regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize pharmaceutical formulations for various dosage forms.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including solid-state characterization and solubility assessment.
• Develop and validate analytical methods for characterizing drug substances and products.
• Oversee stability studies to determine product shelf-life and storage conditions.
• Troubleshoot formulation and analytical challenges, proposing and implementing effective solutions.
• Collaborate with internal departments (e.g., Analytical Development, CMC, Manufacturing) and external partners.
• Prepare technical reports, documentation for regulatory submissions, and scientific presentations.

Requirements

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical product development, formulation, and analytical characterization.
• Proven experience with a range of pharmaceutical dosage forms and drug delivery technologies.
• Proficiency in analytical techniques relevant to pharmaceutical development (e.g., HPLC, DSC, TGA, XRPD).
• Strong understanding of GMP, ICH guidelines, and regulatory submission requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to research.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities, essential for team collaboration.
