Senior Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an accomplished Senior Pharmaceutical Formulation Scientist to join their pioneering, fully remote research and development team. This position is central to the design, development, and optimization of innovative drug delivery systems and dosage forms. You will leverage your deep scientific expertise to translate early-stage drug candidates into stable, effective, and patient-friendly pharmaceutical products. Working collaboratively with cross-functional teams, you will play a key role in advancing our client's pipeline from concept through to clinical development, contributing significantly to the future of pharmaceutical therapeutics in a dynamic and forward-thinking remote environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop novel pharmaceutical formulations for various routes of administration.
• Conduct pre-formulation studies, including characterization of drug substances and excipients.
• Optimize formulations for stability, bioavailability, and manufacturability, applying drug delivery technologies .
• Develop and validate analytical methods for assessing formulation performance and quality.
• Scale up formulation processes from laboratory bench to pilot plant and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with project teams to define formulation strategies and timelines.

Requirements

• PhD or Master's degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Pharmaceutics, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Extensive experience (7+ years) in pharmaceutical formulation development, with a strong focus on solid dosage forms or specialized delivery systems.
• Proven ability to successfully take formulations from early development through to clinical trial material supply.
• Proficiency in formulation techniques , characterization methods, and relevant analytical instrumentation.
• Expertise in relevant regulatory guidelines (e.g., ICH) and quality systems.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote setting .
