Senior Pharmaceutical Research Scientist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Pharmaceutical Research Scientist to join their innovative research and development team in Aberdeen . This pivotal role involves contributing to the discovery and development of novel therapeutic agents, from initial concept through to preclinical evaluation. You will be instrumental in designing and executing complex experiments, analyzing data, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of scientists and clinicians to advance our client's drug pipeline. Key Responsibilities

• Design and conduct in vitro and in vivo experiments to evaluate the efficacy and safety of new drug candidates.
• Develop and validate novel assays for drug screening and characterization.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and prepare comprehensive reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory submissions.
• Stay abreast of the latest scientific literature and technological advancements in pharmaceutical research.
• Mentor junior scientists and contribute to the technical training of research staff.
• Collaborate with medicinal chemists, pharmacologists, and toxicologists to integrate research findings.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life science discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of post-doctoral or industry research experience in drug discovery and development.
• Proven expertise in relevant laboratory techniques such as cell culture, ELISA, PCR, and flow cytometry.
• Strong understanding of drug metabolism, pharmacokinetics (DMPK), and preclinical study design.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
