About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Pharmaceutical Scientist to join their dynamic research and development team based in Aberdeen . This role is pivotal in driving forward the discovery and development of novel therapeutic agents. You will contribute to cutting-edge projects, leveraging your expertise in drug formulation and delivery systems. The ideal candidate will possess a strong scientific background, a passion for innovation, and the ability to lead and mentor junior scientists within a collaborative laboratory environment, contributing significantly to the company's pipeline and future success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and execution of experiments for drug formulation and development of new pharmaceutical products.
- Analyze and interpret complex experimental data, preparing detailed reports and presentations for scientific review.
- Conduct literature reviews and stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements and regulatory guidelines in pharmaceutical sciences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including chemists, biologists, and clinical researchers, to advance projects from discovery through to preclinical development.
- Mentor and guide junior scientists, fostering a culture of scientific excellence and continuous learning within the team.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Good Laboratory Practices (GLP) and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a focus on drug formulation and development.
- Proven expertise in various dosage forms, including oral, injectable, and topical formulations.
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC, and dissolution testing.
- Strong understanding of pharmacokinetics and drug delivery principles.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project management skills .
