Senior Pipeline Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Pipeline Engineer to join their esteemed Oil & Gas team in Norwich . This role is integral to the design, construction, and maintenance of pipeline networks essential for the transportation of hydrocarbons. You will be responsible for ensuring the integrity, safety, and efficiency of pipelines, applying advanced engineering principles and rigorous analysis. Working within a dedicated engineering department, you will contribute to major projects and ongoing asset management, making a significant impact on the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and engineer onshore and offshore pipelines, including route selection, material specification, and stress analysis.
• Develop and manage pipeline construction and commissioning plans.
• Conduct fitness-for-service assessments and integrity management strategies for existing pipelines.
• Oversee non-destructive testing (NDT) and inspection programs.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant national and international pipeline codes and standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project managers, geologists, and safety officers.

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in pipeline engineering within the Oil & Gas industry.
• Strong understanding of pipeline design codes (e.g., ASME B31.3, API 1104).
• Proficiency in pipeline simulation and stress analysis software.
• Experience with pipeline integrity management and risk assessment techniques.
