An excellent opportunity for an experienced Planning Enforcement Officer to join a busy local authority planning team, managing a varied caseload of planning enforcement matters.

The role will suit an experienced enforcement professional who is confident managing cases independently, investigating breaches of planning control and working with a range of stakeholders to achieve appropriate resolutions.

Key responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of planning enforcement investigations
• Investigate alleged breaches of planning control
• Assess cases and determine appropriate courses of action
• Prepare enforcement notices, reports and other relevant documentation
• Provide professional planning enforcement advice to colleagues, Members and stakeholders
• Liaise with applicants, landowners, agents and members of the public
• Work closely with legal and other internal teams where required
• Progress complex and contentious enforcement cases through to resolution

Requirements:

• Relevant planning qualification or significant planning enforcement experience
• Proven experience working within a local authority planning enforcement team
• Strong knowledge of planning enforcement legislation and procedures
• Experience managing a caseload independently
• Confident dealing with complex and contentious enforcement matters
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Hybrid working, with requirement of 1 day per week in office.
