Are you an experienced Planner or Senior Planner looking to play a key role in delivering one of the UK's most significant energy infrastructure projects?

At Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution , we're helping to build the infrastructure needed to support the UK's transition to Net Zero. We're looking for a talented Planner or Senior Planner to join our team on the exciting Woolavington (Apollo) Substation Project, located near Bridgwater, Somerset.

This major infrastructure scheme will play a vital role in strengthening the UK's electricity network and supporting future energy demands. As part of the project team, you'll be involved in planning and controlling project delivery from inception through to completion, helping to ensure successful execution of this high-profile programme.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a complex and nationally significant project while developing your career within one of the UK's leading infrastructure organisations. You'll collaborate with experienced project teams, influence key delivery decisions, and contribute to a project that will leave a lasting legacy on the UK's energy landscape.

What you'll be doing

• Developing, maintaining and managing detailed, fully resourced project programmes.
• Supporting planning activities across pre-construction and delivery phases.
• Producing project schedules, planning strategies and programme updates.
• Monitoring programme performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and supporting mitigation actions.
• Managing change, progress reporting and programme controls.
• Producing planning reports, dashboards and key performance indicators for project stakeholders.
• Working collaboratively with project teams to achieve programme milestones and contractual requirements.
• Providing planning support and expertise to operational teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives, planning processes and best practice across the business.

Who we're looking for

We're keen to hear from experienced planning professionals who can bring strategic thinking, technical expertise and a collaborative approach.

• A degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline.
• Significant planning experience within major infrastructure, utilities, power or energy projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Primavera P6, Asta Powerproject and associated reporting tools.
• A strong understanding of NEC3/NEC4 contracts.
• Experience in earned value management, QSRA and programme risk management.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• The ability to lead planning activities independently whilst supporting wider project teams.
