Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop cutting-edge power electronic converters, including inverters, converters, and motor drives, for various applications.
- Conduct detailed simulations and analysis using industry-standard software (e.g., SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink) to optimize circuit performance and efficiency.
- Specify components, generate schematics, and oversee the layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs) for power electronic modules.
- Collaborate virtually with cross-functional teams to define system requirements and ensure successful integration of power electronics solutions.
- Perform rigorous testing, validation, and troubleshooting of prototypes and production units to ensure reliability and compliance with specifications.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in power electronics, contributing to intellectual property and technical publications, supporting Southampton based initiatives.
Requirements
- Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics.
- Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in the design and development of power electronic circuits.
- Deep understanding of semiconductor devices (MOSFETs, IGBTs), magnetic components, and control strategies for power converters.
- Proficiency with power electronics simulation tools and schematic capture software.
- Experience with PCB layout for high-power applications and thermal management techniques.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fully remote, collaborative setting.
