About the Role
Our client is seeking a seasoned Senior Power Electronics Engineer to join their innovative team in Glasgow . This role involves the design, development, and testing of high-performance power electronic converters and systems for a variety of demanding applications. You will be at the forefront of technological advancement, working on complex projects that require a deep understanding of semiconductor devices, circuit design, and system integration. Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop advanced power electronic converters (e.g., AC/DC, DC/DC, DC/AC) using modern topologies and components.
- Perform detailed simulations and analysis of power electronic circuits using tools like SPICE and MATLAB/Simulink.
- Select appropriate power semiconductor devices (e.g., MOSFETs, IGBTs, SiC, GaN) and passive components.
- Develop control strategies for power converters to ensure stability, efficiency, and performance.
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of prototypes in the lab environment.
- Collaborate with firmware engineers to develop and integrate control software.
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Electronics.
- A minimum of 8 years of relevant industry experience in power electronics design .
- Proven experience with various power converter topologies and applications.
- Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools for power electronics.
- Strong understanding of control algorithms for power converters.
- Experience with component selection and reliability assessment.
