About the Role
Our client is looking for a seasoned Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their critical infrastructure team based in Nottingham . This role is integral to the design, analysis, and operation of robust power systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and safety. You will tackle complex challenges related to power generation, transmission, distribution, and protection, working closely with a team of experts to deliver cutting-edge solutions for vital projects. Key Responsibilities
- Perform power system studies, including load flow, short circuit, stability, and protection coordination analysis.
- Design and specify electrical infrastructure for power generation, transmission, and distribution projects.
- Develop protection schemes and coordinate relays for optimal system security.
- Ensure compliance with relevant electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., G59, ENA).
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on power system design and operational issues.
- Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in power system engineering.
- Proficiency in power system analysis software such as PSS/E, ETAP, or DigSILENT PowerFactory.
- Strong understanding of power system protection principles and equipment.
- Experience with renewable energy integration and grid code compliance is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
