Senior Power Systems Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Power Systems Engineer to join their team in Belfast . This role is crucial for designing, developing, and maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the power grid. You will lead complex engineering projects, troubleshoot critical issues, and contribute to the strategic planning of future energy infrastructure. Working within a hybrid model, you will collaborate closely with a talented team of engineers and technicians, balancing office-based design and analysis with the flexibility of remote work. Your expertise will be vital in ensuring a stable and reliable energy supply for the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of power system projects, including grid upgrades and integration of new energy sources.
• Perform load flow studies, short circuit analysis, and transient stability simulations for the power grid .
• Develop and review technical specifications, engineering drawings, and project documentation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to power system operation and protection.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems.
• Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in power system analysis, design, or operation.
• Proficiency with power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
• Strong understanding of grid codes, protection schemes, and electrical engineering principles.
• Experience with renewable energy integration and grid modernization projects is highly desirable.
