Senior Process Chemist - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly experienced Senior Process Chemist to join their fully remote Research & Development team, focusing on Pharmaceutical Manufacturing . This role is crucial for optimizing and scaling up chemical synthesis processes for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs). You will leverage your expertise to enhance efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness in chemical production, working closely with manufacturing and regulatory affairs teams. Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and scale-up chemical synthesis routes for APIs from laboratory to pilot plant and commercial scales.
• Conduct process hazard analyses (PHAs) and implement safety improvements in chemical processes.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and implement robust solutions to ensure consistent product quality.
• Define critical process parameters (CPPs) and establish process controls for robust manufacturing.
• Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure successful technology transfer.
• Prepare process documentation for regulatory filings (e.g., IND, NDA).

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in process chemistry, preferably within the pharmaceutical industry.
• Strong understanding of synthetic organic chemistry, reaction kinetics, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with process scale-up, optimization, and troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements (e.g., ICH guidelines, GMP) for pharmaceutical manufacturing.
