Senior Process Chemist

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Process Chemist to join their vital manufacturing and development team in Bradford . This role is central to optimizing and scaling up chemical synthesis processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and cost-effectiveness in production. You will work closely with research chemists and production engineers to transition laboratory-scale discoveries into viable manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in organic chemistry, process development, and scale-up challenges, contributing significantly to the company's ability to deliver high-quality chemical products reliably and efficiently, within a key industrial hub known for its manufacturing heritage.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and scale up chemical processes from laboratory to pilot plant and full production scales.
• Conduct process hazard analyses and implement safety protocols for large-scale chemical operations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues encountered during process scale-up and routine manufacturing.
• Write detailed process descriptions, batch records, and technical reports.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure seamless process transfer and execution.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience in process chemistry or chemical process development.
• Strong knowledge of organic synthesis, reaction kinetics, and thermodynamics.
• Experience with process safety assessment and scale-up principles.
• Familiarity with GMP guidelines and regulatory requirements for chemical manufacturing.
