Senior Process Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client has an immediate opening for a highly experienced Senior Process Design Engineer to join their esteemed engineering department in Bristol . This role is instrumental in the conceptualization and detailed design of complex chemical processes and facilities, from initial feasibility studies through to the final design package. You will lead design teams, ensure technical integrity, and collaborate closely with project management and stakeholders to deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of process design packages, including PFDs, P&IDs, equipment specifications, and control philosophies.
• Perform process simulations and calculations to optimize designs for efficiency, safety, and operability.
• Conduct feasibility studies and conceptual design work for new chemical plants and process modifications.
• Ensure designs comply with all relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior design engineers.
• Collaborate with procurement, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure successful project execution.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering .
• Extensive experience (10+ years) in process design engineering within the chemical or related industries.
• Proven track record in leading process design projects from concept to completion.
• Expertise in process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, UniSim) and P&ID development.
• Strong understanding of unit operations, thermodynamics, and fluid mechanics.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
