About the Role
Our client, a dynamic organisation specialising in renewable energy technologies, is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Design Engineer to join their innovative team based in Glasgow . This crucial role will involve the detailed design and development of chemical processes for new energy solutions, focusing on sustainability and efficiency. You will play a key part in translating conceptual designs into robust, scalable industrial processes, working within a company dedicated to pioneering greener energy alternatives. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the front-end engineering design (FEED) and detailed design of chemical processes for renewable energy applications.
- Develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and equipment specifications.
- Conduct rigorous process simulations, risk assessments, and safety reviews (e.g., HAZOP).
- Optimize process designs to maximise energy efficiency, minimise waste, and ensure economic viability.
- Collaborate with project managers, equipment suppliers, and construction teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers and contribute to the continuous improvement of design standards and practices.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
- A minimum of 7 years' experience in process design engineering , with a focus on conceptual and detailed design.
- Proven expertise in developing P&IDs, PFDs, equipment sizing, and process control strategies.
- Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics , and mass/heat transfer principles.
- Experience with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen HYSYS, Pro/II) and CAD tools.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills, particularly in a remote collaboration setting.
