Senior Process Design Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Process Design Engineer to lead the conceptualization and detailed design of chemical processes at their facility in Brighton . This role is critical for developing innovative and efficient solutions for both new projects and plant upgrades. You will be responsible for delivering robust process designs that meet technical, economic, safety, and environmental objectives, contributing significantly to the company's capital investment strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of process designs, from conceptual studies through to detailed engineering.
• Create and review P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment specifications.
• Perform process simulations and calculations, including hydraulic, thermal, and reaction modeling.
• Conduct Process Hazard Analyses (PHAs) and ensure designs meet all safety standards.
• Specify major process equipment and prepare tender documents for procurement.
• Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.

Requirements

• Master's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering .
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in process design and engineering, preferably within the fine chemicals or specialty chemicals sector.
• Expertise in process simulation software and design tools.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and best practices for process design.
• Proven ability to manage design packages and coordinate with multiple engineering disciplines.
• Excellent technical judgment and problem-solving capabilities.
