Senior Process Development Engineer - Pharmaceutical Manufacturing

About the Role

Our client seeks a highly experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to lead critical process optimization and scale-up activities within their pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Bradford . This role is central to enhancing the efficiency, robustness, and cost-effectiveness of drug substance and drug product manufacturing processes. You will work with multidisciplinary teams to translate laboratory-scale processes into commercially viable manufacturing operations, ensuring the highest standards of safety and quality. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development, optimization, and scale-up of pharmaceutical manufacturing processes, ensuring robust and reproducible outcomes.
• Design and execute experimental studies to define critical process parameters (CPPs) and establish design space.
• Develop and implement process validation strategies and protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Troubleshoot manufacturing process issues, identify root causes, and implement effective corrective actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams to ensure seamless technology transfer and integration.
• Author technical reports, process descriptions, and regulatory submission documentation.

Requirements

• MSc or PhD in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in pharmaceutical process development and scale-up.
• Extensive knowledge of GMP manufacturing principles and regulatory guidelines (e.g., FDA, EMA).
• Proven experience with process characterization, validation, and technology transfer in a pharmaceutical setting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a thorough understanding of statistical process control (SPC).
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and cross-functional teams in West Yorkshire .
