Senior Process Development Engineer

About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Process Development Engineer to contribute to their pioneering work in Plymouth . You will be responsible for leading the design, scale-up, and optimization of novel chemical processes, from initial concept through to successful commercialization. Key Responsibilities

• Lead the research and development of new chemical processes and optimize existing ones for performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Design and execute pilot plant trials, analyze data, and make recommendations for process improvements.
• Specify process equipment and instrumentation, collaborating with procurement and engineering teams.
• Conduct rigorous process safety reviews, including HAZOP studies, and ensure compliance.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers and technicians involved in process development activities.
• Prepare detailed technical reports, proposals, and technology transfer documentation.

Requirements

• Master's or PhD in Chemical Engineering or a related scientific discipline.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in process development and scale-up within the chemical industry.
• Strong knowledge of reaction kinetics, thermodynamics, and separation science.
• Proficiency in process simulation software and statistical analysis tools.
• Proven experience in managing R&D projects and leading technical teams.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
